A note from The Bramble ladies:
Jamie and Kristin here. This month (November 2025) marks 10 years since The Bramble first opened its doors to host an array of events. Thank you for supporting our vision and local business!
Ten years ago, we were 2 young moms with a creative vision and a love for our town. We worked 3 years restoring our dilapidated building that was once a center-point of commerce in the early 1900s. We desired to continue the goals of A.R. Brown.
It has been a joy as you have included us to help celebrate babies to be born, weddings, proms, state legislature dinners, birthdays, and even celebrations of life. Most of all, we have loved watching families grow after hosting the weddings!
The time has come for us to hand over the baton as the building has sold and we close this chapter. It isn’t a goodbye but a see you later. We hope to see you at parks as we play with our kids, gathered around a table eating with our family at a local restaurant, or supporting other local businesses. We urge you to support other local businesses. They depend on you just like your children, parents, and family depend on you.
Please continue to support Kelly at Storybook Micro Weddings along with other local downtown businesses. Make a point weekly to purchase a coffee, smoothie, or dinner from them.
Much love, Jamie and Kristin
A note from Kelly:
My chapter in the 115-year story of the A.R. Brown building — loving known for the last 10 years as The Bramble — may have been just a short blip in its history, but it will have a lasting impact on me.
It was wonderful reconnecting with my hometown again in a new way. Those four walls hold so many precious memories for our amazing community, from celebrations of life and new babies to sweet 16s, charity events, vendor markets, dances, recitals, and so many beautiful weddings. I found so much joy in curating the vintage lounges, antique mirrors, plants and decor to further embellish the historic charm the building already offered and hearing everyone’s reactions as they came in the door. I loved hearing stories from guests about the happy memories they had of shopping with their grandparents or during their high school years, from the decades it was the place to shop in town.
Since the property sold, The Bramble and this chapter are now closed, but I’ll cherish the memories and so many amazing new friendships that formed in these last 2 short years. I’ll still be around town, doing weddings with my Storybook Micro Weddings company, serving on the Chamber board, helping out on occasion at Plant Palace and around town. So this is “see you soon” not goodbye. A piece of my heart will always remain in Erwin — just as it does for anyone who has called this beautiful little county “home.”
